“We are proud to announce that Javan Kerby Bernakevitch from Permaculture BC will be stopping in to Kimberley on Friday April 21st to talk hugelkultur.

For those that don’t know – hugelkultur, pronounced hoo-gul-culture is a no-dig raised bed replicating the process of decomposition that occurs on the forest floor. Hugelkultur beds benefit the gardener and the earth by holding moisture, building fertility, and maximizing the surface volume of your garden. They are great way to grow fruit, vegetables and herbs to their max.

The workshop will take place between two easily walkable locations on Rotary Drive. First starting in the Kimberley Aquatic Centre multipurpose room for theory then moving a short walk to the Kimberley Open Gate Garden for hands-on learning.
