DOGS OF KIMBERLEY | MOUNTOWN JOURNAL
POSTMARK: JANUARY 2017
After posting the photo below on Instagram, I was reminded of an idea I've wanted to try out on 95EH for awhile called "The Dogs Of Kimberley".
Or, to put it more accurately for the youths: #DogsOfKimberley
I first thought I had totally come up with this idea all on my own—well, as long as you don't count the obvious #DogsOfInstagram rip-off—but now I'm not so sure. Because after searching to see if anyone else was already using #DogsOfKimberley on Instagram, I saw that one person had in fact used it. Once. And that person was Paula Bayne. A person I had met in the driveway of the house where I was doggy-sitting the very dog in the above picture; a picture that was very possibly taken on the very same day that I met Paula; the very person who was the first person to use the #DogsOfKimberley hashtag.
I know, what you're thinking—I'm thinking it too…
While we all take a moment to recover from that mind blow, why not have a flick through some of the recent local canine models making Kimberley look like a "good boy/girl" on Instagram…
Besides using the #DogsOfKimberley hashtag to let your pup digitally canoodle with a bunch of other local doggos, 95EH will also be using that hashtag to populate The 95EH Events Calendar photo spread every now and again + we'll regram some favourites over on the 95eh Instagram. Which means you will be able to tell your dog that they are internet famous. To which they will probably say something like, "What iz Internets? Who iz famous? Squirrel!"
And yes, Cat People, I see you and I agree that #CatsOfKimberley and #CatsOfCranbrook are also fun hashtags to get going and worthy of a calendar photo spread. I just haven't done any cat-sitting yet (damn independent cats), so somebody else is going to have to try and get those going.
